Pump (White Boy Flow)

PUMP!

Back in the mid-90’s there was a little-known, Buffalo, NY (white) rap band called Tabu. (It turns out there’s a thirty year old band in Southern California by the same name, as I failed to find any mention of said rap group on the interwebs.) They appeared to be riding the coattails of House of Pain and in my opinion, doing a decent job of it. I had featured one of their videos on my long-defunct cable access show “My City Underground”. The featured song, “Knux to the Head” was quite catchy and sticks with me to this day. You’ll almost hear their chorus in mine:
“PUNK! Cause you heard what I said.
PUNK! You get knux to da head.
PUNK! Cause you heard me before.
Pass the brass knuckles, let me break your jaw.”
So here is my tongue-in-cheek homage to Tabu (wherever they may be) and maybe a little nod to DMX to boot. (Please don’t take any of this song remotely seriously. And as it’s not technically all my material, it is not copyrighted.) Lastly, but not leastly, this song is dedicated to my good friend and half-sistah, Melanie Morse, who is one of the few people I know will roll on the floor listening to this.
